Dr. Abdul Raziq Kakar
Low Carbon Livestock Expert, Camelogist, & Ethnocologist

Around 30 Years of Experience in Low Carbon Livestock Production
Hello there! I’m Dr. Raziq Kakar, an Animal Scientist by profession and a proud member of a livestock rearing community. I belong to the historical pasturelands of the Arya Warsha and have a great root in animal agriculture. Our community had been keeping livestock on dry and marginal lands for ages. To me, livestock means keeping animals for food and agriculture in a very natural and humane way to produce healthy food items in symbiosis with nature which is now called sustainability.

Dr. Abdul Raziq Kakar
is the founder of “World Camel Day” & “World Donkey Day”
Dr. Abdul Raziq Kakar has almost 23 years of practical experience with camels in one or another capacity. He holds a doctorate in animal science, with a special emphasis on dromedaries as potential dairy animals. Dr. Abdul Raziq is a camel dairy professional, both by training and experience. A camel dairying entity (Alain Farms for Livestock Production), the world’s first commercial camel dairy, has been his sole employer since 2014. The camel, in his philosophy, is a magical biological model that copes with a warming planet while producing health-promising milk and meat under challenging conditions. He has documented different aspects of camels as a potential dairy animal as;
- Breeding Goals
- Nutritional Requirements
- Calf care & Rearing
- Camel Housing
- Future Planning
- Camel Milk Products Development & Marketing
- Profitable and Sustainable Camel farming
- Overall Farm Management

In addition to providing consulting services at a global level on how to establish profitable and sustainable camel dairies, Dr. Raziq has already completed seven consultations on different aspects of camels, particularly dairying and developing international milk products. Under the patronage of Dr. Raziq, a team of camelists from all corners of the globe work together under the umbrella of Camel4Life Interinational to advocate and promote camel milk on a global scale. “The National News” has also acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Abdul Raziq: Al Ain doctor sees potential in camels beyond their milk.
Dr. Abdul Raziq is well known for his experience in livestock ecosystem rehabilitation to revitalize depleted ecosystems because of any reason. He has acquired precious modern and traditional knowledge of sustainable livestock production. His knowledge and experience enables his to provide simple solutions to complex problems. A strong affiliation with nature and belief in climate change adaptation & sustainability theories excels him from other fellow scientists.
Dr. Abdul Raziq has documented “Traditional/Native Livestock Breeds from the Perspectives of the Relevant Livestock Keepers in Balochistan”, Page 1 of 5 “ROLE OF CAMEL IN THE PASTORAL ECONOMY OF MARRI TRIBE IN BALOCHISTAN, PAKISTAN” which is also his Ph.D. thesis.
The “Large Scale Geographic Mitochondrial DNA analysis provide insights on the demographic and evolutionary history of the dromedary (camelus dromedarious) adjoining areas under the drynet international project.” is also his remarkable work. Under his Ph.D. research project, he characterized, documented & reported 3 breeds of camel (Kohi, Phawal, & Raigi) and also highlighted their role in livelihood earning under the challenging climate changes.

The community livestock agriculture (farming) guarantees food security in the climate change scenario. A Symbiotic relationship between natural resources, farming communities, and the consumers can engineer a dome of sustainable agriculture, making societies stronger and resilient.
The world of animal agriculture is based on native livestock breeds, keeping in the natural environment, and production in a sustainable manner. I dream of a world where all the livestock has the right to graze and serves as a viable part of the ecosystem. I have the mission to bring more people into agriculture and livestock farming. I do my efforts to convert caging back into farming.
