Camel Milk and Challenges of Modern Time; The Concept of Natural Health

One of the alarming challenges of modern time is accumulation of heavy metals in food chain. Heavy metals (lead, copper, mercury and arsenic etc) are making its way?in our food chain through?different routes. All our food and water come through pipes and synthetic plastic etc which affect hazardous on our health. These toxic material accumulates in the body and cause many negative affect on different functions of the body.?The young are more prone to the toxic effects of heavy metals. Childhood exposure to some metals can result in learning difficulties, memory impairment, damage to the nervous system, and behavioural problems. At higher doses, heavy metals can cause irreversible brain damage. Children may receive higher doses of metals from food than adults, since they consume more food for their body weight than adults.

Severe effects include reduced growth and development, cancer, organ damage, nervous system damage, and in extreme cases, death. Exposure to some metals, such as mercury?and lead, may also cause development of autoimmunity, in which a person’s immune system attacks its own cells. This can lead to joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, and diseases of the kidneys, circulatory system, and nervous system.

This has led researchers to seek alternative solutions for decontaminating environmental sites and humans themselves. A number of environmental micro-organisms have long been known for their ability to bind metals, but less well appreciated are human gastrointestinal bacteria. Species such as Lactobacillus, have the ability to bind and detoxify some of these substances. This review examines the current understanding of detoxication mechanisms of lactobacilli and how, in the future, humans and animals might benefit from these organisms in removing?environmental contamination of food.

Interview about camel production and pastoralism to the local tv channel of ARY

In such complicated state of situation, the old food (camel milk) is realized as one of the best tool to combat. Not only a food but a gift of nature for natural health and beauty.?Scientific studies revealed that fermented camel milk have wide range?of lactic acid Bacteria which can be a good tool to minimize heavy metal consequences. Camel milk can be a great source of natural health for the infants in two way, i.e minimizing the risk of heavy metals and its closeness to human milk composition.

  1. Camel Milk can Conserve Shark Fish
In Japan health concious people use Shark fins for natural and good health as (they think) nanobodies (NB) found in Shark fins are health promising. This is the reason that Shark prices are very high in Japan. Recent studies revealed that such NB are found in camel milk far richer than the Shark fins. A famous chef name Chinn (protecting Shark) even claimed ??SShark??”s fin soup has no taste! You take fins off a shark and you don??”t really get anything. There??”s no value except what you??”re paying for.? Camel milk can be a good source of NB and reasonable replacement to the Shark fins.

    1. On the ecological point of view, the suggestion may be useful. However, I think that using camel milk as an alternative of shark fins is not a good solution because in this case the whole camel milk production would not satisfy Japanese people needs and therefore the commercialisation of this product may affect milk consumption within camel herder??”s population….

  2. Eye Sight and the Camel Milk
Camel milk is a nervine tonic and helps in good eyesight. The pastoral people depending on camel milk never get weak eyesight. Their eye sight is promising. The author has personally noticed this unique character of camel milk. The camel pasotoralists are very healthy, having good eye sight, healthy skin and smart thin bodies.

  3. Aphrodisiac
Camel milk is use as aphrodisiac, especially in the stressful conditions of the dry hot weather. Sexual stimulants are still often called ??Saphrodisiacs? (after Aphrodite, theGreek goddess of love). Aphrodiasic characteristics of camel milk are linked with the nanobodies found in this gift of nature (CM).

  4. Colostrum (First Milk)
Colostrums (white and slightly diluted as compared with the colostrum of cow) contain antibodies such as IgA, IgG, and IgM. In mammals
Other immune components of colostrum include the major components of the innate immune system, such as lactoferrin, lysozyme, lactoperoxidase, complement, and proline-rich polypeptides. Camel??”s colostrum is rich with total solids (TS) and at 3 hours post-partum total solids (T.S.) averaged 30.4 percent. Colostrums are rich with probiotics which acts as antibodies which can also be a good tool to fight viral infection. What if scientists suggest camel milk/colostrums for the prevention of AIDS, MARS and Ebola virus.

  5. Infant Formula
Its composition is closer to human milk than cow??”s milk is, so it is better for infant formula powder milk. Also, its higher calcium intake is important for growing children and helps preventing Osteoporosis. Research proved that camel milk is a safer alternative than goat milk for kids in cow milk allergy (CMA) situation. Furthermore, like human milk, camel milk does not contain ? lactoglobulin, the protein present in cow??”s, goat??”s and horse??”s milk that is the main cause of cow??”s milk allergy. Cow??”s milk allergy can also be caused by hypersensitivity to beta-casein. Camel milk also contains beta-casein, but the structure of this protein in camel milk is very different to the structure of this protein in cow??”s milk.

  6. Possible Super Market for Camel Milk
It could be the ???super food??” of the future in the Western and other developed countries, and generate much-needed income for developing countries. The United Nations is calling for the milk to be sold to the West. Japan and other Far East countries can be great markets for camel milk and a replacement for shark fins; I think ..

      1. in Gulf states, commercial dairying of camel is already initiated. High yielding camels are being identified. Advanced breeding technologies can produce enough high yielding camels and technology involvement in production system can increase camel milk many many times. Climate change and minimizing energy use in farming systems are pushing animal agriculture to unique alternatives like camel. Camel does not need any cooling system and high consumption of water in the extreme hot and arid conditions of its true habitat.

  7. Having all the good and appealing elements, camel milk is also a rich treasure of insulin. Literature reviewed by the author revealed that there are 3 possibilities of camel milk healing affect on diabetes, i.e.
    i. insulin in camel milk have special properties that make absorption into circulation easier than other sources
ii. camel milk insulin is encapsulated in nano-particles (lipid vesicles) that enable it to bypass acidic media of stomach safely
iii. some other element in camel milk may make it anti-diabetic

  8. According to a study, camel milk contains 52 units of insulin per kg (which is more than 60% of the average necessary external insulin administration for type 1 diabetics).

  9. Interesting Story of Raica camel Pastoralists of Rajasthan India
Studies conducted at the SP Medical College, in Bikaner, on Raica communities near the Rajahstani cities of Jaiselmer and Jodhpur, where camel milk consumption was very high within the communities. These studies revealed a zero percent prevalence of diabetes in these particular Raica community. Further studies conducted on the Raicas, revealed that the zero percent diabetes incidence persisted only in habitual consumers of camel milk, while non camel milk consuming Raicas had a more standard five to six percent incidence of diabetes.

  10. I have my own experience with the camels??” pastoralists in Balochistan and Cholistan. They have promising health and very positive attitude. They looks healthy and behave friendly. I have asked and discussed about their health secrets, they replied ??Sin a body both the camel milk and disease cannot live together?. I asked about the prevalence of ailments like diabetes, arthritis, weak eye sight and mental disorders in their communities. They always replied that they drink camel milk which kicks out all the ailments of their body. They always said that camel gives the sense of love and happiness which keep them health and happy.

    1. Dear Hamid Aqab,
Thanks for your feedback. I am looking forward to hear from you and suggestions in this matter. My program is to compile all my knowledge and experience soon.
